After receiving B.F.A. in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design, Chika started creative career at American Apparel inc. as a junior designer to promote their ethical propaganda of "Sweatshop-free". After returning Japan, as a member of the creative team of Avery Dennison, she proposed and spread the importance of sustainable packaging design and branding to global retail companies. As a complimentary service for marathon runners, the original icons were designed and provided as heat transfer labels so as to create one of a kind customized T-shirts at a caffe in Tokyo. To make it a memorable gift for runners from all over the world, the icons were reflected on Japan and marathon themes like Mt. Fuji, map of Japan, origami, running shoes, and marathon runners.
